Re-routing
Here I have a route round a town
I want to reroute it to go a slightly different way through the town, but I want to restrict the bit that is rerouted to the bit going through the town.
Right click the track, and choose 'Edit', 'Reroute between' from the menu
Define the re-routable segment:
A flag in the top right of the screen should appear telling you to left click where you want the segment to start.
This should be just before where you want rerouting to start, i.e. on the last bit of road that you want to keep.
(The cursor should change to a white dot as you move over the track.)
When you do so, the flag should change to tell you to now click where you want the segment to end.
This should be just after the last bit you want to reroute, i.e. on the first bit of road that is correct again. (Don't worry - you have the chance to Accept or Cancel it before it's permanent.)
Once you have done this, when you move the mouse, a new route will be generated and the map will display the track as it will look when rerouted.
The existing route is shown as a faint, wide line, so you can compare it to the new route.
The panel in the bottom left should also show how much shorter or longer the proposed route is than the current one.
Once you're happy with it, either right or left click and choose 'Accept'.
To cancel the operation, simply choose 'Cancel' instead, and the track will go back to how it was.
Bear in mind that the routing option chosen (car, bike, or walking) has an effect on the re-routing of the segment.
When you accept a re-routing operation, the track is then split at the point that you re-routed via (the point at which you dragged the mouse to before clicking accept). This is done so that if you then want to reroute further, for finer grained control, the effect of the previous rerouting operation isn't undone.
You can also undo a re-routing operation, if you click Accept and then decide you don't like it - to do this simply right click the track and choose 'Edit', 'Undo re-route between'.
